Our Leadership
John Thomas, Founder & Managing Director
Mr. John Thomas moved to Mumbai in 1975 and worked in the overseas placements and travel industry for a few years before he began Crystal Enterprises in 1980. Since then, his leadership has established a certain trust and loyalty with our clients and customers, that has allowed the organization to grow beyond expectations. In 1991, he simultaneously began his venture in the air travel business by starting Lawson Travel & Tours (I) Pvt. Ltd., which was among India’s top 10 air travel consolidators earning an impeccable reputation in the industry, having been a preferred travel agent for the world’s leading airlines such as Lufthansa, British Airways, American Airlines, Delta, Emirates, Qatar Airways etc. Mr. Thomas was also elected as the Secretary General for the Indian Export Promotion Council of India for 3 years, Joint Secretary General for 9 years, and continues to be an honorary member of IPEPCL council. Mr. Thomas is known for his business ethics and discipline which have been instrumental in the growth of his business ventures.
Lawson Thomas, Director
Lawson Thomas has newly joined as Director and taken over the Business Development at Crystal. He will be spearheading the company’s expansion plans, targeting niche areas for development. In his previous tenure, he worked with Lawson Travel since 2010, bringing with him his drive for growth, which enabled the business to scale rapidly from 2010 – 2020 as one of India’s leading travel agencies. He headed the Sales and Business Development, managing sales of over USD 1.2 billion in his 10-year stint within the air travel consolidation business. His understanding of the business played an instrumental role in the 2018 acquisition of Lawson Travel & Tours by Ebix Travel, a US based Nasdaq Listed Company. Following the handover of the Travel business, Mr. Thomas has joined Crystal Enterprises full time since 2021.
